The North Harbour at Byblos is today the main harbour of the attractive modern town of Byblos (Jbeil). In this photograph the harbour has been appropriated for a wedding of a member of one of Lebanon's weathier familes. Small in size the harbour was probably only ever used by small vessels, while larger trading ships would have waited at anchor on some shallows which have been recently identified off the coast form Byblos.
